The Gloucester-born midfielder, who has been named as the Gulls Player of the Year for the 2011-12 campaign and selected in the PFA League Two Team of the season, will also striving to become one of the handful of Torquay players who have appeared in two promotion winning sides.
During his six years at Plainmoor, he arrived from Oxford United in 2006, Mansell, who also stands 14th in the club's all-time appearance list, has seen a series of highs and lows in this time.
From relegation to the Conference in his first season, missing out in the Play-Offs against Exeter City in his second, the Gulls' return to the Football League in his third campaign and missing out against Stevenage last season.
Overcoming the Gulls' two goal deficit and going on to win promotion this time around would be the icing on the cake in what has turned out to be a dream season for him.
However, he will have some way to go to match his former team-mate Kevin Hill's all-time club appearance record of 474 games.
