BLIZZARD EXTENDS GLOVERS' STAY

Midfielder Dominic Blizzard has agreed a new one-year deal with Yeovil Town after it looked as though he was set to leave Huish Park.

Glovers' boss Gary Johnson had originally stated that Blizzard was set to leave after failing to respond to his contract offer by the given deadline, but he has now extended his stay at Huish Park by a further year.

Johnson will now be hoping that skipper Paul Huntington will also commit to signing a new deal with Yeovil after the former Newcastle and Leeds defender was given more time to consider his options following a bereavement.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Franks, who was on loan at Huish Park towards the end of last season from Middlesbrough, has signed for the Glovers' League One rivals, Hartlepool United, after stating that he wished to remain in the North East after his partner gave birth to their first child.
