Kenyan international striker Taiwo Atieno has been released by Torquay United manager Martin Ling as the Gulls boss continues to rebuild his squad.
Atieno chipped in with a number of crucial goals for the Gulls in the 2011-12 campaign, including one of the goals against Bristol Rovers in Torquay's 2-1 win over the Pirates and the decisive strike in the Gulls' Boxing Day triumph over Paolo Di Canio's Swindon Town.
The vacancy in the Gulls squad left by him is likely to be filled by Ryan Jarvis who, after a successful loan spell from Walsall, has been offered a permanent deal following his release by the Saddlers.
