After helping Torquay United make a dream 100% start to their League Two campaign, Gulls defender Mark Ellis has been nominated for the Npower League Two Player of the Month award.
Ellis, who was the subject of a transfer bid from an unnamed League One side during the summer transfer window, has been a cornerstone of a defence that has conceded only one league goal in four games and is one of four nominees for the award. The other three are Rotherham striker Adam Le Fondre, Accrington Stanley keeper Ian Dunbavin and Cheltenham Town's Wesley Thomas.
If successful, Mark will join David Graham and Tony Bedeau who have won the monthly award whilst with Torquay.
Gulls boss Paul Buckle is also in the running for the Manager of the Month prize in what could potentially be an award winning double for Torquay.
