MASON BECOMES A BLUEBIRD

Joe Mason has become Malky McKay's sixth signing as Cardiff City manager after the Bluebirds paid £250,000 for his services.

Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Mason, who scored seven goals in 35 appearances for the Pilgrims last season, has signed a three-year deal with the Welsh side.

Many Argyle fans will be disappointed to see him go as his performances for the Pilgrims have been one bright spot in what has been an extremely difficult period for the club, who currently remain in Administration as they wait for a deal to purchase the club to be completed.

For Joe, if he establishs himself as a first team regular at the Cardiff City Stadium, this move represents a great opportunity for him as the Bluebirds will be amongst the Championship promotion contenders. It could also give him a springboard to break into the Republic of Ireland senior side, who still have a realistic chance of qualifying for next summer's European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.
