SEYMOUR SIGNS AS ASH IS ALSO RETAINED

Torquay United manager Paul Wotton has moved to strengthen his forward line for the 2024-25 campaign with the capture of former Exeter City prospect Ben Seymour.

Seymour, 25, arrives at Plainmoor following a successful season in National League South with Hampton & Richmond, where he scored 16 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions. In addition to this, he was also named the National League South Player of the Month for October 2023.

Having progressed through the youth ranks of the Grecians, Seymour gained further first-team experience during loan stints with the likes of Weston-super-Mare, Yeovil Town and Bath City, before joining Plymouth Parkway, where he netted 26 times in 46 appearances in the Southern League Premier South in 2022-23. It was this form that brought him to the attention of the Beavers.

His arrival also coincides with the news that last season's leading scorer Brad Ash agreed a new one-year deal to remain at Plainmoor, which increases Wotton's striking options to three after capturing the signature of Jaydn Crosbie from Mangotsfield Town.
