After turning down a move to Premiership side Fulham, Plymouth Argyle starlet Jack Stephens is set for a move to League One promotion hopefuls Southampton.
The Saints, despite their drop in league status in recent years, have a fine reputation of turning out young talent.
In recent years, they have unearthed players such as Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale and, more recently, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain who has been a key player for Nigel Adkins' side this season.
Jack, who became Argyle's third youngest ever player when he made his debut as a substitute against Sheffield Wednesday last September, will join the Saints for an initial £145,000 plus add-ons, subject to a medical.
This will provide the Pilgrims' with a welcome financial boost as the talks over the takeover of the club with interested parties continue.
