ARGYLE IN ADMINISTRATION

Following a meeting of club directors, Plymouth Argyle have been iu administration and Brendan Guilfoyle of the P&A Partnership has been appointed as the club's administrator.

The Pilgrims had already lost ten points on February 21st 2011 after announcing their intention to go into administration.

This decision brings to a head what has been a difficult season for Argyle off-the-field during which time they have faced a winding up order in the High Court over an unpaid tax bill, the forced sale of key players including Craig Noone, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Reda Johnson, a transfer embargo over further unpaid taxes, which has prevented manager Peter Reid from being able to replace these players, and the non-arrival of promised investment from their Japanese majority shareholders that has seen the club unable to pay their playing and non-playing staff on time for several months.
